View Spectra

The View Spectra tool is used for viewing the raw spectra, the NASVD's spectra, or a superposition of both. You can set the lower channel limit for display using the First Chan textBox. The Line Ave checkBox will display the average spectrum for each line – useful to rapidly find corrupt spectra. Automatically scroll through the database using the Scroll controls. The Num Pc textBox is used to specify the number of NASVD components to use for reconstructing the NASVD noise-reduced spectra.

See Tutorial 2 – Viewing Data for a tutorial on the use of this tool.

Tool Tip:  Select a line in the listBox to rapidly move to different lines in the database.

Tool Tip 2:  The channel position of the thorium peak maximum is a critical parameter for energy calibration, and is required by most GammaSpec tools. Use View Spectra to estimate this parameter – see the Tool Tip for View Spectra in the Viewing Data tutorial on how to do this.
