The Menu Bar

The menu bar separates items into functional groups as follows:
- File: This is used for setting the working directory, viewing log files, setting aliases and control parameters, launching processes and tools, and seeking help. Subsequent sections in this User Guide will describe the functions of the menu items.
- Set Aliases And Parameters: Used for setting and saving aliases and parameters. Aliases and parameters can be read from (and saved to) a control file.
- Grid Pre-Conditioning: Launches the tools for pre-conditioning grids prior to levelling: trim grid edges, trim grids to a coastline, trim grid overlaps, and condition grids.
- Grid Levelling: Launches grid-levelling processes: getting grid overlaps, calculating relative adjustments, calculating and applying absolute adjustments, and tilting grids.
- Grid Merge: menus for merging or feathering plus merging grids.
- Utilities: utilities for viewing grids, checking grids, calculating Priority Order and Boundary Views, shifting/scaling a grid, and calculating grid statistics.
- Help: Provides access to the GridMerge User Guide.
Important Note:
GridMerge makes processing easy by facilitating the setting of most aliases and parameters for processing in one place (Set Aliases And Parameters menu). These are stored in memory and shared between processes (tools). They remain available until a new working directory is set. To maintain the integrity of the data, and the stored parameters, only one tool may be executed at a time. There are a few exceptions – for example, more than one View Grid tool can be used at the same time.
