Lineament Enhancement

The Lineament Enhancement tool is used for the extraction and enhancement of linear features in gridded airborne geophysical data. The filter is loosely based on the radon transform as applied to the enhancement of image data. However, the GammaSpec implementation also has an automatic-gain-control element that attempts to scale all the lineaments to approximately the same amplitude. So the lineaments are not suitable for quantitative modelling as their amplitudes have been arbitrarily adjusted. It is particularly suited to the enhancement of lineaments in noisy data.

To use this tool:

    • Set the aliases and parameters – File|Set Aliases and Parameters. On exiting the aliases and parameters window, the tool will display the input grid in the left panel.
    • Click Run to run the tool. This is a CPU-intensive tool, and the processing may take some time. On completion, the lineament grid will be shown in the right-hand panel.
    • View the log file – File|View User Log File to see the results.
