Hardware and Software Requirements

GridMerge is a .Net application that runs under Microsoft Windows. You should first download and install .Net 8 SDK if it is not already installed on your computer. GridMerge was developed on Windows 10, and tested on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. A monitor display resolution of at least 1980x1020 is recommended. If you are working on a small screen, you may have to reduce the scaling on your screen (MS Settings|Display). You will also have a better user experience if you have a good quality GPU installed, as GridMerge uses DirectX for rendering.

Download the GridMerge installation file from www.gridmerge.com.au.
Execute the installation file and follow the instructions to install. It is recommended that you install the program in "C:\GridMerge", and not in the "Program Files" folder, as spaces in file paths can cause GridMerge difficulties. Use the underscore ("_") rather than spaces in file paths.
Give yourself write access to the “logs” and "temp" sub-directories of the install directory.
Download the demonstration datasets file and execute the file to install. The default install location is the “demo_data” sub-directory of the install directory. The demonstration datasets take up about 700 Mb of storage, and you may wish to install them elsewhere. Give yourself write access to the demonstration datasets directory.

GridMerge is currently free – it comes with a Free License automatically installed. No registration is required – simply install and run the program.
